Do you think that corn cobs are usually eaten boiled, steamed or grilled, maybe with butter and salt? Well, the corn cobs in Tateyama are so sweet and juicy that you can even eat them raw! Due to the influence of the ocean current, Tateyama has an almost subtropical climate so that the area is blessed with a rich soil in which crops can be raised easily. Because of the relatively small size, high sugar content and thin skin of the breed “Mirai” that is raised in Tateyama, the corn can even be enjoyed raw. You can also try to harvest the sweet corn yourself!
