The Shiraito Falls are renowned as one of the most famous waterfalls in Japan. From summer 2013, the Shiraito Falls underwent improvements, such as the removal of a structural object from its waterfall basin and the construction of a new bridge, and its maintenance construction was finally completed on December 21, 2013. The water of the falls is melted snow water that runs down from Mt. Fuji, and gushes out of the walls of rocky cliff between the new Mt. Fuji volcanic layer; an upper stratum that runs water, and the old Mt. Fuji volcanic layer; the bottom stratum that does not run water. True to its name, the Shiraito Falls beautifully display hundreds of silky water flows of all sizes rushing down from a curved cliff with a height of 20 meters and a width of 150 meters, just like threads of silk. Come and enjoy the magical world that is created with the arches of water in three directions.
