About 60 minutes by car from Kyukamura, there is a Himesayuri colony in Atsushiokano-cho, Kitakata City.
Himesayuri is a very valuable plant that is only found in the southern part of Miyagi Prefecture, the Iide mountain range on the border of Niigata Prefecture, Fukushima Prefecture and Yamagata Prefecture, Mt. Azuma, 
Every year from early June to mid-June, flowers bloom all over the mountain in the colony, and the Himesayuri Festival is held during the best time to see them.
Various events are planned during the festival, such as the "Furusato Corner" where local products are sold, the "Himesayuri Performing Arts Festival" such as an ocarina concert, and a photo, haiku, and tanka contest.
