下田を訪れた時、私は有名な「下田海中水族館」に行きました。この水族館は１９６７年に開館され、日本でも珍しい浮かぶ水族館として知られています。施設の一部が入り江の海に浮かんでいるため、とても特別な雰囲気があります。

When I visited Shimoda, I went to the famous Shimoda Underwater Aquarium. Opened in 1967, this aquarium is known as one of the few floating aquariums in Japan. Since part of the facility floats on the sea, it has a very special atmosphere.

周りは緑豊かな山と穏やかな海が広がっていて、自然に囲まれた美しい景色を楽しむことができました。入り口にはイルカの飾りや海の生き物のデザインがあり、訪れる人々を明るく迎えてくれます。

The beautiful location surrounded by green mountains and calm water made the place feel peaceful and relaxing.At the entrance,therer were dolphin decorations and colorful sea animal designs that created a welcoming atmosphere for visitors.

水族館の中では、イルカ、ペンギン、アザラシ、さまざまな魚など、多くの海の生き物を見ることができました。とくに「アクアドームペリー」という浮かぶドーム施設が印象的で、自然の海とつながった環境で海洋生物を観察することができました。
また、管内のイルカをテーマにした展示やアートもとても魅力的でした。

Inside the aquarium, we saw many marine creatures, including dolphins, penguins, seals, and various fish. The floating dome facility called “Aqua Dome Perry” was particularly impressive, allowing us to observe marine life in an environment connected to the open ocean.
The dolphin-themed exhibits and art throughout the facility were also very captivating.

訪れた日は天気が良く、青空が広がっていて景色がさらに美しく見えました。下田海中水族館での体験は、海の生き物について学びながら下田の自然の美しさも楽しめる、とても思い出に残る時間でした。
私は、下田や南伊豆の近くに住んでいる人や、この地域を訪れる観光客の皆さんに、ぜひ一度下田海中水族館を訪れることをお勧めしたいです。リラックスしながら、自然と海の生き物たちに癒やされる素敵な時間を過ごせます。ぜひ足を運んでみてください。

The weather was beautiful on the day of my visit, with a clear blue sky that made the scenery look even more stunning. My experience at the Shimoda Underwater Aquarium was truly memorable—I was able to learn about marine life while enjoying the natural beauty of Shimoda.
