Let's walk Miyako [part2]

スタッフ:Niikura

Continuing from [Part 1], I will introduce the access on foot from Kyukamura Rikuchu Miyako to "Earthquake Memorial Park Nakanohama" in this blog. If you haven't seen [Part 1] yet, please check it out below!

It's almost time to Nakanohama

A red torii gate and shrine suddenly appear in the forest. Why not pray for safety on the trail?

The ocean is right in front of you! It took about 45 minutes from Kyukamura.

About 5 minutes walk from there...

I arrived at the goal !

“Earthquake Memorial Park Nakanohama”

This location, facing the sea, was a popular campsite for its beautiful scenery. However, in March 2011, the Great East Japan Earthquake caused a tsunami exceeding 15 meters in height, causing damage.
It has been preserved and maintained as a place to convey memories of the earthquake.

Located almost in the center of the Rikuchu coast, Kyukamura Rikuchu Miyako is celebrating its 50th anniversary this year.
Along the coast, you can enjoy beautiful natural scenery such as Jodogahama, Kitayamazaki, and Ryusendo Cave, as well as being an attractive base for sightseeing in Hachinohe, Kamaishi, and Tono.
The seaside buffet features fresh seafood such as sushi and a seafood robata corner.
You can also enjoy the popular "Bottle Don" for breakfast.
