韓国人の私は伊豆に来て、アメリカンジャスミンを初めて見ました。
韓国は冬が寒いので、暖かい南米原産のこの植物には適さない気候なんです。
南伊豆と下田は温暖な気候のため、屋外でもアメリカンジャスミンが大きく育つそうです。
それで、まちを自転車で走っているとアメリカンジャスミンを植えてる住宅がぽつぽつありました。

初めてアメリカンジャスミンの一つの株で同時に白の紫の花が咲いている姿を見たときは驚きました。
まるで、人がつくったような植物みたいで、とてもエキゾチックでした。

さて、アメリカンジャスミンは、白と紫の花が別々に咲くのでしょうか。

As a Korean, when I came to Izu, it was my first time seeing Brunfelsia australis.
Since winters in Korea are very cold, the climate is not suitable for this warm-weather plant originally from South America.
Because Minamiizu and Shimoda have a mild climate, Brunfelsia australis can grow large even outdoors.
So while riding my bicycle around town, I noticed a number of houses here and there with Brunfelsia australis planted in their gardens.

When I first saw white and purple flowers blooming at the same time on a single Brunfelsia australis plant, I was amazed.
It almost looked like an artificial plant made by people.
It felt very exotic and fascinating.

By the way, do the white and purple flowers of Brunfelsia australis bloom separately?

調べてみたら、実は一つの花が時間が経つによって変化することでした！
咲いたばかりのアメリカンジャスミンの花は濃い紫色で、どんどん薄い紫色から白へと変化するのです。

そして、新しい花があまり咲かないようになった時には、白いお花の比重が多くなります。
