What Is Goshono Jōmon Park?
Goshono Jōmon Park, centered on the Goshono ruins (Goshono iseki) in Ichinohe Town, Iwate Prefecture, is a beautifully preserved archaeological and cultural site that brings to life a large Jōmon-period settlement from approximately 2,500–2,000 BCE—about 4,000 years ago. 
御所野縄文公園とは？
岩手県一戸町にある御所野遺跡（ごしょのいせき）を中心とした御所野縄文公園は、紀元前2500年から2000年頃（約4000年前）の縄文時代の大規模な集落を現代に伝える、美しく保存された考古学・文化遺跡です。

In 2021, the site became part of the UNESCO World Heritage inscription titled “Jōmon Archaeological Sites in Hokkaidō, Northern Tōhoku, and other regions”, underscoring its significance in showcasing pre-agricultural, ritual-based societies in Northeast Asia.

What You Can See and Doーー
Reconstructed Jōmon Villageーー
The park features faithful recreations of pit dwellings and pillar-supported buildings with earth-covered roofs, arranged around ritual areas and stone circles—drawing on excavation data.
You’ll find a central ceremonial zone featuring two stone circles (80 m × 50 m), burial pits, and structures supported by wooden posts, surrounded by residential clusters to the east and west.

復元された縄文の村 ーー

A wooden suspension bridge—"Kikiki no Tsurihashi" or “Kiki‑ki suspension bridge”—spanning about 120 meters, connects the park entrance to the archaeological area. It’s not only functional but also adds a time-travel vibe.
壮大な吊り橋ーー
全長約120メートルの木造吊橋「キキキの吊橋」が、公園入口と遺跡地区を結んでいます。機能的なだけでなく、タイムトラベルのような雰囲気も漂わせています。


Goshono Jōmon Museumーー
Adjacent to the park is the Goshono Jōmon Museum, housed in an award-winning building designed after the mud-roofed dwellings. It features a glass floor that allows visitors to view an excavated, burnt-down pit dwelling beneath—bringing history up close .
御所野縄文資料館ーー
公園の隣には、土葺き屋根の住居を模して設計された受賞歴のある建物内にある御所野縄文博物館があります。ガラスの床が特徴で、訪問者は発掘された焼け落ちた竪穴住居をその下で観察することができ、歴史を身近に感じることができます。
