"Fireflies" are rarely seen because they can only live in clean waterfronts.
Surrounded by nature, Kyukamura Urabandai still has a valuable firefly habitat.

You can see them around the Kyukamura from mid-July to early August.
The Genji firefly, which is characterized by its large and powerful light, appears from mid to late July, while the
slightly smaller Heike firefly, which is about 1 cm long, appears from late July to early August.

The peak time of appearance is around 19:00 to 21:00, and it
often appears on days with high humidity and no wind after rain.
It also appears in the bushes near the signboard of the holiday village.
They also appear in the river that runs through the Kyukamura campsite, which is a 10-minute walk from Kyukamura.

It often appears near the boardwalk of the Rengenuma sightseeing road, which is a 5-minute walk from Kyukamura.

At the time of appearance, the front desk will introduce a map of haunting spots within walking distance.
Please come to Natsu Kyukamura to see the fantastic lights of fireflies that color the waterfront in summer!
